2Pac Live From The House Of Blues

Tupac Shakur's status as a hip-hop icon reached such heights in the years following his untimely death that it is sometimes easy to forget what a real life, flesh-and-blood talent he was. This live concert, recorded on July 4, 1992, just two ... Full Descriptionmonths before he was shot, captures the rapper at the height of his power, and effectively documents the artist's vitality, presence, and occasional profundity in the days before his name was forever altered by the legend of martyrdom.

LIVE AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES is a lengthy, highly energetic set that features guest appearances by the Outlawz and the venerable Snoop Dogg (most notably on Snoop's famous track "Gin and Juice"). Yet LIVE is undeniably Tupac's show, and while there's not much of his soul-baring confessional material, there is plenty of the brio that made him one of gangsta rap's most compelling figures. A DVD of the concert was released concurrently with the CD, and the two, while undoubtedly fueling the artist's posthumous myth, will also remind the world of his considerable skills while alive.
